Information You Submit
Text entered in a search form, such as a name, telephone number, or address, passes to the third-party provider that supplies the results. We do not retain a separate copy of those searches on our servers. When someone contacts us, we receive the information included in that message and use it to answer.
Information Collected Automatically
Our hosting systems create routine server logs containing an IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps. Aggregate information helps maintain the site and shows which resources visitors use. Cookies or similar technology may support basic analytics and, when applicable, advertising measurement.
What We Do With This Data
The limited data described here is used to operate and secure the site, troubleshoot faults, measure traffic, and improve content. We do not sell visitor lists or assemble individual user profiles.
Privacy on Linked Services
Links lead to Wake County and North Carolina portals, libraries, courts, and third-party search services. Information submitted on a linked service falls under that service's privacy policy, not this one. The same distinction applies to sponsored results supplied by a separate company.
Parties That Process Data
Hosting and support providers process server logs for us. Analytics and advertising providers may receive the automatic information noted above. Data may also be disclosed when valid legal process requires it. Visitor data is not otherwise shared.
How We Protect Your Data
An encrypted connection protects data in transit. Server logs are retained only for as long as their operational purpose requires. Because the site has no user accounts, it stores no account password or personal member profile.
Users Under 18
This site is not directed at children and is intended for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has submitted personal information to us, contact us and we will delete it.
Your Privacy Choices
Rights to access, correct, or delete website data depend on where a user lives. North Carolina did not have a broad, generally applicable consumer-data deletion statute as of the project research date, though sector-specific rules still apply. We can search our contact mailbox and available server logs for a request made through the Contact page. Government records held by Wake County or North Carolina remain outside our control. A correction, redaction, sealing, or removal request must go to the custodian under the law governing that record, including protections in N.C.G.S. ยง132-1.10 where applicable.
Updates to This Policy
A revised version will be posted here if this policy changes. Continued use after publication of a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
